Jiahe Zhang (b. 1997, Dalian, China) lives and works in London, UK. Her practice is informed by research grounded in lived experience. She approaches her work as a form of troubleshooting, using painting and drawing to better understand the relationships between the material and immaterial. Her paintings construct speculative landscapes through flattened perspectives, using colour, texture and material to create spaces that are at once familiar and estranged.
Graduated from Arts University Bournemouth with a degree in illustration, Zhang is self-taught as a painter, she has developed her practice entirely and independently, away from formal fine art education. ‘Probability’, her first solo exhibition, opened at Allotment E8, London, on 16 July 2026.
